Live video installation performance
An open source performance where the artist's shadow is reproduced to oblivion. A four-minute dance repeated all day, each version casting a shadow. Each shadow is recorded and projected casting the next shadow. As time progresses the figure, and sound distorts, filling the screen with a fractalesque image and the room with an abstract rhythmic tone. A study in distortion through reproduction.
I refer to the piece as open source in the sense that the viewer can see the design and mechanics of the effect. Any noises they make will be recorded and added to the collection of sounds from each generation of the performance.
